Care guide
Keep your print looking its best
The short version: wash printed garments inside out in cold water, dry them on low heat or hang them, and never iron directly on the print. Mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe.
Shirts, long sleeves and hoodies
Your design is printed directly into the fabric with water-based inks. A few habits help it last through many washes:
- Turn it inside out before washing so the print isn't rubbed against other clothes.
- Wash cold with a mild detergent, and with similar colors.
- Skip bleach and fabric softener. Both can dull the colors in the print and in the fabric.
- Tumble dry on low, or hang to dry. High heat is the quickest way to age a print.
- Don't iron directly on the print. If you need to iron, turn the garment inside out first.
- Avoid dry cleaning, which can damage the print.
Fabric notes
- Bella + Canvas 3001 and 3501: a soft, lightweight cotton tee (and long sleeve). Heather colors contain polyester, which gives them their flecked look.
- Comfort Colors 1717 and the pocket tee: garment-dyed cotton, washed after dyeing, which gives the broken-in feel. Garment-dyed colors vary a little from batch to batch, so your shirt may differ slightly from the preview. They can also soften and fade a little more with washing, which is part of the look.
- Gildan 18500 hoodie: a heavy blend fleece of cotton and polyester. Wash it inside out, and tie or tuck in the drawstrings so they don't tangle.
Mugs
- The 11 oz glossy ceramic mug is dishwasher and microwave safe.
- To keep the print as bright as possible for as long as possible, wash it gently by hand with a soft sponge and avoid harsh scrubbing pads.
- Like any ceramic, it can chip or crack if dropped or heated while empty.
